From seasons 1 to 6 of The Loud House, Harold McBride was voiced by Wayne Brady. Harold McBride is a supporting character in The Loud House, one of Clyde's dads, along with Howard. Both Howard and Harold McBride made their first physical appearance in the episode "Overnight Success". Starting from "The Orchid Grief" and onwards since 2022, Harold is voiced by Khary Payton because Wayne Brady is no longer able to voice Harold due to becoming a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
Both Howard and Harold McBride have been subject to controversies and censorship due to them being homosexual, which resulted in episodes focusing on Clyde McBride's dads Howard and Harold being censored out or banned from airing on television in countries where homosexuality is widely seen as taboo. Wayne Brady who voiced Harold between 2016 and 2022 commented on the issue in an interview with The Arizona Republic, stating that "it's ridiculous in 2016 an animated series would rankle so many people because it happens to depict something that actually exists in real life."
